News Flash: Obama is NOT Going to End Racism

            Recently, the Washington Post published an article with the headline, "Obama's legacy: His failure to heal racial divisions and uplift black America,” which talked about how Obama is supposed to be the lord and savior for all the black people. He is supposed to save us from racism and take us to a post-racial society. In short, it was an idiotic article with an extremely idiotic headline.
         
          News Flash: Obama isn’t going to end racism. Barack isn’t going to deconstruct 400 years of oppression and institutionalized discrimination, nor should we expect him to.

          The truth of the matter is that Obama, a black man who is made to be at a disadvantage to this very large system of discrimination, cannot deconstruct racism. Obama could barely pass free healthcare through congress, and you expect him to destroy centuries of black discrimination and exploitation? White America can’t even fathom the thought of Obama saying “Black Lives Matter,” and will bash him for his blackness, yet you expect him to send us to a post-racial society?

          In short, what this headline is saying is, “maybe since you’re president, you can make black people start liking white people! Surely they will be our friends if we help you get into office!”

          Black people didn’t create racial divide. White people did. And not only did they create it, but they continue to uphold it to this day. So you expect a single black man to demolish this divide in eight years?

          America can’t even take the mass incarceration of black men seriously; or the ridiculing of black women; or the fact that black people are being brutalized and killed by the police.

          America will shame a bigger person and tell them about their "unhealthiness", yet slander Michelle for promoting exercise and trying to end childhood obesity.

          America will find a problem in the fact that the First Family of the United States will allow their daughters to wear a $10,000 dress to a formal event and look absolutely gorgeous and try to slander their parents for it.

          Yet you expect Barack Obama, a black man, to decompose generations and generations of injustice towards black people?

          America. You expect a black man to clean up a white man’s mess?

Have you ever heard how black children try to talk about how they got whoopings (beatings) and try to downplay the constant abuse they endured? Like there’s laughs and stuff (a coping mechanism)  but dip down after everyone tells their story they realize just how much abuse they endured but masked it because we’re taught to “Love our parents and family, no matter what.”   After hearing it for so long, you want to believe it and even trick yourself to, until you just simply can’t anymore.
