Why The Obama's Departure Got Me Feelin' Some Typa Way

So, somehow, I’m sick of Donald Trump... Astonishing, right?
I’m tired of all the noise that his hate creates and the people who amplify it: the Twitter posts, the news outlets, seeing posters in support of him, and the oblivious people who don’t see what all the ruckus is about. Well, I’d gladly tell them: It’s about greed, power and hate.
If something slightly humiliating happens to someone, I’m the kind of person who feels second-hand embarrassment in the depths of my soul. Therefore, in the context of Donald Trump having an inkling of an idea to start a campaign, run the campaign, gain hundreds of thousands of followers, succeed in running, and potentially become the Republican nominee; I feel second-hand embarrassment for America in more than the depths of my soul. I feel it in my skin cells, the very fiber of my being, but mostly my head (which is why Advil is the GOAT). I’m embarrassed for how trivial and simple America looks to seriously consider a man, so profound in his hate and ruinous level of confidence, as an actual contender in this race. However, like most things that seem out of left field in this country pertaining to racial or corrupt instances; I’m not surprised. Our founding fathers owned slaves, Abraham Lincoln didn’t want to free them, and - in the words of Kanye addressing the former President's involvement with the aid of Hurricane Katrina - "Bush doesn’t care about Black people”. So in that case, we should’ve been surprised if Donald wasn't this successful.
But to keep it all the way real, the thought of my ever so cool-calm-collected President, this country’s goddess (and mom) Michelle exiting the White House with their two ethereal daughters Malia and Sasha, and never returning to virtuously rule their kingdom, makes me want to kick and scream like a spoiled 4-year-old who’s mom said no to Fruity Loops. I want my damn Fruity Loops.
This whole temper tantrum may seem unrelated, but the thought of Donald Trump's dusty ass potentially filling in the grooves of Obama’s throne behind his Oval Office desk, has "got me feelin’ some type way." The suaveness and decorum the of the 44th First Family will be unmatched. Not only have they done so much for America, as a whole, but they did something even more influential: representing.
The thought of a man with brown skin, a wide nose, and full lips being the Commander and Chief of the United States was always a joke in the Black community. This can mostly be accredited to the evils of white supremacy and internalized racism but, it can be agreed upon that it's just hard to imagine yourself where you aren't seen. Few have attempted this stride towards equality before Barack Obama, carrying the names of Frederick Douglass, George Edwin Taylor, Shirley Chisholm and Jesse Jackson. None of these candidates were any less qualified than Obama but, the eras in which they ran, was definitely a factor. Historically, the more America aged, the more humane brown and black bodies were treated; making 2008 a golden time to exclaim "Yes We Can".
Fast forward to the end of two terms, Obama still proves that your fave former Presidents could never (this is even backed up statistically with an approval rating of over 50%). Barack and his flawless wife are a picture of royalty that will continue to justly dwell upon your grandmother's wall- next to the ones of JFK and White Jesus - as an image of resilience and black love. No scandals, no credible divorce rumors, no nothing. Both educated from top ivy league colleges including Harvard and Yale (Michelle being the only First Lady to do so, just FYI) they act as a gracious presence, holding the door open for black boys and girls interested in furthering their own educations to achieve high aspirations.
While maintaining a regal decorum, Obama has made it known that he's BLACKITY BLACK YALL simultaneously (if you got that reference, you're black as hell). The Root released a list of The 10 Blackest Things President Obama Has Done While In Office, which called out moments that all African Americans can relate to our president, most notably the “folks wanna pop off” incident at an international press conference. Throughout his terms, installing an indoor and outdoor basketball court, releasing a #POTUSPlaylist, inviting Beyonce and Jay Z to their home on many occasions, and allowing Larry Wilmore to call Obama his "nigga", all creates a sense of indirect camaraderie with our president. This brings a new level of association involving the leader of the free world and Americans who look like him, which was never felt to this degree with past "honorary black" - whatever that means - presidents like Bill Clinton.
It's about time that black Americans stopped forcing a relatable relationship with leaders who did not look like them- 43 leaders to be exact. Barack Obama promised change and he definitely delivered, contrary to his critics perceptions. During his commencement speech at Howard University, one of the leading Historically Black Colleges/Universities, Obama clarified that "we’re [Black Americans] no longer only entertainers, we're producers, studio executives.  No longer small business owners -- we're CEOs, we’re mayors, representatives, Presidents of the United States". He also reminded us to "be confident in our blackness", revolutionary words that no other President has ever uttered. In an even more radical sense, when Our President says that, he is not singularly addressing straight cis black men; with the actions taken to ensure the human rights of LGBT people of color and women alike, the Obama Administration recognizes that ALL Black Lives Matter.
With triumphant vigor, the insubordination that the current administration operated under towards the unjust restrictions of Americans, has truly left a massive imprint on our country. I don't want to live in an America where my President doesn't know how to shake hands with Tyler then dap up Tyrone (well Kevin Durant actually) or misses the opportunity to pimp walk after announcing the death of a terrorist. No longer will we be able to join Young Jeezy and Nas to say how our President's black and our Lambo's blue, but we will be able to look forward to all the biopics that will be made about the Obamas - one of which is to be released by August 2016, Southside With You
The Obama's departure follows the sad tale of any bittersweet goodbye; alike thousands of Americans, I'm not the only one who doesn't want to let go.

Especially if it's for Donald Trump's dusty ass.
